Guia de Supervivencia
For this project we chose a country to research, and whichever country we chose, we would write our survival guides on. The country I chose was Argentina. I began researching the country for the scenarios that I wrote. I researched the shopping, restaurants, and skiing in Argentina. My partner and I created a very nice survival guide that represented our country very well. We also wrote a skit putting a person in a position that they could possibly be in if they went to Argentina. Ours was on skiing in Argentina. Preforming the skit was difficult because speaking and memorizing a different language was very difficult.
I learned that Argentina has really good skiing which didn’t know. I also learned that Argentina is not very fashionable.
Over the course of this project I learned a lot about speaking Spanish in front of people. Now I defiantly feel more confident speaking Spanish in front of people. I had learned a lot about writing conversations in Spanish as well. Overall, I really enjoyed this project.

Dia de los Muertos
For this project, our class had learned about the day of the dead which is a holiday in Mexico which celebrates the dead coming back to visit
their family. Next we had to pick a family member who you wanted to celebrate the day of the dead with. And lately we wrote a paper about who they were and what we will remember them by and create an art piece that had the day of the dead style and reflected you family member who had passed.

Mi Abuela

My Grandma, Patricia Dorsey, aka Pappy, was born in New Britten Connecticut on March 13, 1929 and died on April 28th, 2013. She was
always one for adventure, a dare devil in her own way. She used to go skiing in graveyards because it was the only place with hills steep enough to ski and to have obstacles. She loved to swim as much as she loved to go to church with her family and always cared about family being together even after she had passed.
My favorite memory of her was when I was little and we used to drive around to go shopping a shed always point out each store as we passed them. She also would go on about her elderly friends and would gossip about everyone in our family and all of Kensington. Every time I gossip to someone about people they don’t even know all think about my Pappy.

This project was very interesting and fun because I was able to go back and think about my grandma who had passed and really get into the
holiday and rather than morning her death, I was able to reflect on the positive things that I remembered about her. I really was proud of my art piece because I was able to use creativity in the day of the dead style using colors and shapes. If I was to do something different with this project, I would try to use more words that I knew in Spanish then trying to use words I didn’t know. But overall I really enjoyed the project.

El Periodismo
For this project we were asked to pick a country and either right newspaper articles or make a news video related to your country in our small groups. We each had to pick a different topics, like a story, current events, weather, and sports, and write an article about it and then finally make a final product with all the articles put together.
I connected to this project by finding an interesting story to write about that had happened in the country. I had found an article about Chilean Dictators using music to torture prisoners, and I found it very interesting. I liked writing an entire article in Spanish because it was definitely a challenge for me. And the best moment in this project was creating the final newspaper because it looked very professional.
I think that the most challenging part of this project was definitely writing the article in Spanish because it was definitely something I’m not that experienced with. And I had a hard time making conjugations within the sentence.
The thing I learned about over the course of the project is that I think that is interesting learning about what is happening over the world, and that I should keep up with what is happening over the world.
It lets you have an idea of what is going on in the other parts of the world. It also lets you learn how to write in Spanish better because looking at articles written in Spanish, you can see how sentences and paragraphs are structured which can help you learn how to do it yourself when riting in a different language
