Rocket Project
The conclusion was that our rocket had lifted off the launch pad but sprung a leak during the launch. After we had built our rocket, we were foreshore that it would launch really well. The chamber had held air pressure when we tested it at school but when we went to the launch we had got to 40 psi and had sprung a small leak. Our solution to this problem was to have more epoxy so that we could have a soled air tight chamber to hold air and water. If I was to make any adjustments I would have tried to make it smaller than it was, because the weight made the rocket tilt on the launch pad. I would have made me a single bottle chamber.
While building the rocket it was hard at first because we had to take three 2L bottles and make them into a single chamber. We had problems with the epoxy because we couldn’t n get the chamber to stay together. We next had to apoxy the smart bottles together than connect them to the main chamber. We had to epoxy the fins on to the rocket, make a cone, and have a para shoot that would deploy.
I thought that we built our rocket well because it held air pressure and it was very arrow dynamic. It looked really cool too. We should have made it smaller and a better Para shoot so that it would definitely release when the rocket came back down.
If I would help another group with this project I would tell them to make a single chamber, very arrow dynamic, and to make it as small as you can make it.
The whole project I would say would be a success because with the rocket going off the launch pad was a good success.
